Fans have been waiting for years, and now Splinter Cell: Conviction is finally playable on Xbox One.
This morning, Ubisoft accidentally published an image revealing that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction was "now backward compatible". That seems to have been a premature announcement because the game was nowhere to be seen in the Xbox One's "Ready to install" section. This caused many individuals to question the authenticity of the news.
A few hours later, the publisher posted the announcement again and this time Splinter Cell: Conviction was backward compatible. Larry Hryb, Microsoft's Director of Programming for Xbox Live, confirmed the news on Twitter. Ever since backward compatibility was announced at E3 all those years ago, fans have been requesting this game. Splinter Cell: Conviction garnered critical acclaim when it came out due to its action and personal story.

Splinter Cell is a stealth series revealing around an operative named Sam Fisher. In Splinter Cell: Conviction however, all of the rules have changed, as the story takes a dramatic turn that shakes up the franchise. Fisher, now a renegade from the law and without his trusted bag of tools, must race against time to thwart a deadly terrorist plot that threatens millions. You have to rely on instincts more than your gadgets.
Those who love the gadgets will also feel at home because throughout the campaign, Splinter Cell: Conviction arms you to the teeth with new advanced weaponry and lethal skills. If you haven't played the game on Xbox 360, be sure to check it out on Xbox One because it's a rather thrilling experience.
