Ubisoft has provided a first look at the next Operators coming to Rainbow Six Siege.

Ubisoft has officially kicked off the third year of post-launch content for its tactical first-person shooter, Rainbow Six Siege. With a full reveal of its next season of content, "Operation Chimera," on track for next month, the publisher is ramping up anticipation with a new teaser.

Taking to the official Rainbow Six blog, Ubisoft has teased information on what to expect from the expansion – specifically its two new Operators. Although minor details were shared previously, the post dives into a first look, with what to expect in combat.

Both of the new Operators from this expansion are tied to a fictional counter-terrorist unit, known as the "Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Threat Unit." Created under Team Rainbow, associated operators specialize in biohazard threats and sport unique hazmat suits. Ubisoft has also provided further details on how the two Operators may perform in-game.

One operator hails from France and uses a drone to maintain quarantine perimeters. Their service record is astounding, but their list of regrets seems endless.

The other operator moved to Russia to pursue their studies and they uncovered a range of applications for self-dissolving nanobots. All allies can benefit from the research carried out by this CBRN Specialist.

Despite the vague nature of these two descriptions, we can still draw some valuable information surrounding their in-game roles. The French operator, as seen with a French flag on his shoulder in the teaser image, appears to be heavily armored and slower. And with an ability centered around a drone, this Operator will likely focus on surveillance.

The Russian Operator, seen on the left-hand side of the teaser image, appears to be a lightweight character. Taking advantage of "self-dissolving nanobots" that "benefit" all allies, this Operator can be expected to deliver teammate buffs.
