Long-awaited Xbox One X enhancements are coming to Ubisoft's tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege.

Since last year's Xbox One X unveiling, studios have been keen to roll out support for the console across their titles. Ubisoft has been among the publishers embracing the device's additional overhead, with Assassin's Creed Origins, For Honor, and Ghost Recon: Wildlands all sporting 4K upgrades.

Ubisoft has unveiled that Xbox One X enhancements are now on the way to Rainbow Six Siege, providing the first official confirmation since the game's 2015 debut. Taking to the official Rainbow Six Twitter account, a spokesperson confirmed that support for the console is on the roadmap, though specifics on its arrival are currently undecided. Upgrades are also planned for Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro, with further details on both platforms still to come.

While Ubisoft has remained quiet on these forthcoming updates, today's news comes as little of a surprise. After recovering from its rocky launch in 2015, the game's popularity has skyrocketed, now sitting among today's most popular shooters. Most recently, Ubisoft announced the game had exceeded 25 million players across its three respective platforms.

Rainbow Six Siege's third year of content is just around the corner, kicking off with a biohazard-themed expansion, "Operation Chimera." With at least three further seasons of content to follow, we'll simply have to wait for further details on the upgrades.
