Cuphead launched at the end of September and has gone onto hit various sales and critical acclaim milestones since then.
In October, Studio MDHR reported that the game passed more than a million copies sold. However, it seemed that there's no slowing down Cuphead because today, the developer announced that the game has sold over two million copies across Xbox One and PC. The studio issued the following statement on their website.
Hello friends! Much to our shock and amazement, we can announce that Cuphead has now sold over 2 million copies across all platforms. Even in our wildest dreams, we never thought our crazy little characters would be embraced by this many fans from around the world and we are continuously humbled by your support... to everyone who has drawn fan art, composed memes, performed songs, conquered challenge runs, streamed their playthrough, or just played Cuphead and had a good time, we love and appreciate all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
Cuphead had a rather lengthy journey before it launched as the game was pushed back a number of times. Gamers were eagerly waiting for the title due to its tight shooting mechanics and 1930's cartoon visuals. When we reviewed the game, we said that due to its difficulty it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's still one for the most unique titles out there.
If you haven't played Cuphead yet, be sure to check it out at retailers. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere so you can purchase it for either Xbox One or Windows 10 and you own it on both platforms.
