The United States is always a good indicator as to how well a particular game is doing because it's the biggest games market in the world.
As stated by VentureBeat, every month The NPD Group reveals which titles sold the most and they finally revealed which games reigned supreme during the month of September. Considering that Destiny 2 was by far the biggest release in the United States, it's not a surprise that it managed to beat all other titles. The top ten games of September 2017 are as follows.

- NBA 2K18
- Madden NFL 18
- FIFA 18
- Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
- Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- NHL 18
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege
The story doesn't end there though. Not only was Destiny 2 the best-selling game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but it also managed to become the best-selling game in the United States for all of 2017 in the month of September alone! If you look at the past twelve months, not just 2017, Destiny 2 is still the third best-selling game after Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1.
Destiny 2 is a great experience and add solid new gameplay over its predecessor. It's great to see the game doing so well despite the fact that it may not have sold as well as the first game. Be sure to check out the title at retailers for Xbox One if you like first-person shooters with a lot of replayability.
