While rumors that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare would have a gameplay mode involving zombies hit the Internet before the first person shooter was released earlier this month, today developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision confirmed that "Exo Zombies" will indeed be added to the game as part of its Season Pass worth of extra content.
The news comes with a pre-rendered trailer showing the zombies in action, moving fast and jumping high as they attack humans while wearing powered exoskeleton suits. Sledgehammer stated:
"As things were wrapping up around launch, we started playing around with the idea of what happens when zombies were thrown into the mix with exoskeleton gameplay. What we came up with is Exo Zombies — an entirely new breed of zombies and an entirely new co-op experience that is truly unique to Advanced Warfare."
More details about the Exo Zombies mode will be revealed sometime in the next few weeks. The debut chapter featuring that mode will be released in January for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles first, as part of the first DLC pack for the game. Players who purchase the $49.99 Season Pass for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will get all four DLC packs. Will you be playing Exo Zombies mode when it comes out?
