Glass Crush

Glass Crush is a challenging puzzle game for Windows Phone that offers a slight twist on the match three concept. You are given a collection of cubes of assorted colors and have to crush them by creating matches of three or more.

The challenge comes into play in that you have a limited number of moves to crush all the cubes. Available for low-memory devices, Glass Crush isn't an overly complicated game but the simple design gives way to some challenging puzzles. The game has been available for some time and after a handful of tips to check the game out, we found Glass Crush to be a decent time waster of a game.

Your main menu for Glass Crush has the standard options to play the game, mute the sound and an option to buy hints through in-app purchase. You also have access to a series of pages that highlight your gaming achievements, online leaderboard, player profiles and other games from the developer.

Glass Crush

The 600 gaming levels are spread out across thirteen gaming chapters. The levels within each chapter as well as the chapters themselves are progressively unlocked. The game will start out on the easy side and will guide you through the game mechanics. It takes about seven or eight levels for Glass Crush to pick up speed. Finding the right solution for some of the levels cab be real head scratchers.

Each level offers you a collection of glass cubes of assorted colors. You need to swap or slide the cubes to create matches of three or more of the same colored cubes. While the concept seems easy, you only have a limited number of moves to remove all the cubes.

At the top of the gaming screen you will find a reset button, a number of white gloves that represent your available moves and a light bulb (the hint button). You will need to make the most of your moves by creating chain reactions as the cubes are crushed.

Glass Crush

While Glass Crush is a fun game to pass the time with, it does have one annoyance. Every so often as you transition between levels of play or between menu screens, a pop-up ad will appear which you will have to close before you can continue with the game. The game does have ad banners running across the bottom of the gaming screen, that aren't very distracting, so the pop-up ads are a bit excessive.

Overall Impression

Glass Crush is a fun, challenging and slightly addictive puzzle game for Windows Phone. With over 600 puzzle levels to tackle, Glass Crush has plenty of game time and isn't a bad time waster of a game.

The pop-up ads may be a deal killer for some but if you can get past them, Glass Crush is a nice addition to the Windows Phone gaming library. Glass Crush brings home a 4.5 Star rating in the Windows Phone Store, which is not far from the mark.
