Sparkle 2 is the follow up Windows Phone 8 game to the 10tons hit Sparkle. The game picks up where the original leaves off with you in a battle against the darkness that is threatening to sweep across the lands.
Sparkle 2 shares the three gaming modes of the original and has over ninety unique levels in the Story Mode. You have over two hundred combinations of sixteen enhancements for your slinger and fantastic graphics.
Sparkle 2 is as entertaining of a game as the original and quite possibly a must have game for your Windows Phone 8 device.
Sparkle 2 is laid out just like the original. The three game modes includes Story, Survival and Challenge. Story Mode has over 90 levels of play where you follow a map across the lands defeating the darkness. Survival Mode is as you would think, surviving as many waves of orbs as possible. Challenge Mode where you try to complete the levels as quickly as possible.
Sparkle 2 supports player profiles to allow others to play the game without screwing up your progress and a color blindness setting that places symbols on the orbs as identifiers.
The game screen has a slinger that is positioned along side a series of tracks. Orbs enter the screen and run the tracks headed to an abyss. You use your slinger to hurl orbs into the mix by tapping the area of the screen you want them tossed. Your goal is to create combinations of three or more of the same color. When you do they explode and vanish. You will need to take out all the orbs before they reach the abyss or the game's over. Each level of play has multiple waves of orbs to take out.
Bonus items appear that give your slinger a boost of power and the enhancements earned can be put into play to further increase your abilities. Bonus items include exploding orbs, orbs that freeze the chain, and more.
Graphics seem to have a bit more gusto with Sparkle 2. The orbs seem to be larger, easier to aim, and the explosions and bonus effects has more pizzazz to them. Sparkle remains a great game for your Windows Phone 8 device but 10tons did a fantastic job of building on the original without making the sequel feel repetitive.
There is a free trial available for Sparkle 2 with the full version currently running $4.99. It's a bit on the pricey side so give the trial version a try if you have any doubts that Sparkle 2 is just as entertaining as the original.
You can find Sparkle 2 here in the Windows Phone Store.
