Ghost Recon Wildlands launched as a somewhat uninspired game but subsequent updates have greatly enhanced the experience.
Today, Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands will get a second year of post-launch support, offering players new free content, both in the campaign and the competitive "Ghost War" experience. Surprisingly, the first major update titled "Special Operations 1", will launch on April 10, 2018 on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
According to Ubisoft, Ghost Recon Wildlands: Year 2 will continue to deliver substantial post-launch support with four free major updates, updates to the campaign, updates for the Ghost War mode, and features highly requested by the community.
Update Special Operations 1 includes the following content.
- Teammate Customization was the most requested feature by the community and allows players to customize teammate outfits with all items they have unlocked for their own character.
- Sabotage is a competitive multiplayer mode which features thrilling gameplay and new rewards.
- Special Operations 1 adds a new campaign mission which also unlocks new rewards.
Unfortunately, if you want to get the content early, you'll have to pay some more. The Ghost Recon Wildlands: Year 2 Pass offers seven-day early access to the six new Ghost War classes, an exclusive customization pack, and eight Battle Crates.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is a military shooter playable entirely in four-player co-op or single-player from beginning to end. Gamers have total freedom to accomplish their missions how they want. They can choose to move quietly in the night, go in hot at dawn, or work together to execute the perfect sync shot that takes out enemies in one fell swoop. Each choice has a consequence, and players must improvise and adapt their plans to ensure the completion and success of each objective.
The game also features Xbox One X enhancements and is currently available for roughly $50 at various retailers.
