A remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is said to be in the works, and it may come without a multiplayer mode.
Following the appearance of a product listing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered on Amazon Italy last week, new rumors suggest that the unconfirmed title won't include a multiplayer mode.
Call of Duty blog Charlie Intel and Eurogamer both report that, according to their sources, the remaster will only include the single-player campaign.
Charlie Intel also reports that Raven Software, which worked on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, isn't developing Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. Rather, there's speculation the Beenox, which assisted Raven Software in developing Modern Warfare Remastered and is currently hiring for positions related to Call of Duty projects, could be behind Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.
As with all rumors of this nature, is best to take this with the requisite grain of salt. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered hasn't been announced, but it appears Activision is cooking something up. In the meantime, Activision has confirmed the next major entry in the series, Black Ops 4, is coming in October. While details on the title are light, Activision is planning a full reveal event for May 17.
