Sea of Thieves' launch trailer is here, and it features a terrifying cameo from none other than the Kraken.
With Sea of Thieves' March 20 launch just around the corner, it's nearly time to embrace your inner (virtual) pirate. Ahead of its arrival, developer Rare has put out an action-packed launch trailer to celebrate.
If you've been keeping up with Sea of Thieves throughout its development, the trailer doesn't contain much in the way of surprises. It does, however, feature a look at the game's swashbuckling sword fighting, ship customization, ship battles, and even some pig chasing. Oh, and we get a brief peek at the Kraken, a giant sea monster, toward the end. Check it all out in the trailer below:
Sea of Thieves lets players take to the seas with their friends as part of an open world pirate adventure. The experience is fairly open-ended, encouraging players to explore and experiment without much hand-holding. You can hunt down treasure on remote islands, engage in ship-on-ship combat with other players, and more, all while dealing with the dangers presented by the seas and the skeletal enemies occupying the environment.
Sea of Thieves is also an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning you can buy it once and play it across Windows 10 and Xbox One. Those with an Xbox One X will also get enhanced visuals with 4K support.
Sea of Thieves is scheduled for release on March 20 and is available for preorder now for $59.99 on Xbox One and Windows 10. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass, which runs $9.99 per month.
