Every week, numerous games launch on Xbox One but which ones truly stand out? Here are some of the biggest and most anticipated titles launching across Microsoft's platforms this week.

This week we have no new "AAA" releases on Xbox One, but there are still a few surprises here and there. Notably, Surviving Mars tasks you with learning how to build a habit on the red planet, and Devil May Cry HD Collection transports you to a world filled with demon-slaying goodness. With that in mind, here are all the biggest games launching this week, between March 12 and March 16, 2018.

Surviving Mars

Unlike creating sprawling cities on Earth, Surviving Mars is all about colonizing the red planet and surviving its challenges. It's more of a survival-builder than a traditional Cities: Skylines-like experience. According to the developers, it's a focused game about creating interconnected systems and testing them against the threats of a hostile environment.

Surviving Mars should launch on March 15, starting at $39.99. The game runs at native 4K 30 FPS on Xbox One X.

The Council

The Council is a narrative episodic game with permanent, long-lasting consequences. You're plunged into a tale of intrigue and manipulation in the style of a classic murder mystery with a cast of alluring characters each hiding their own dark secrets. Trust no one while uncovering dire truths, no matter the cost to mind and body. The first episode of the game launches this week. The complete season will include a total of five episodes, with new episodes releasing regularly in 2018.

The Council should launch on March 13.

The Raven Remastered

Tesla vs Lovecraft

Tesla vs Lovecraft is an intense top-down twin-stick shooter from the creators of Crimsonland and Neon Chrome. The story is just as quirky as the game's name. On the eve of Nikola Tesla's greatest invention, his laboratory is burned down by the grotesque minions of the horror author H. P. Lovecraft. Predictably, Tesla is furious and a showdown of epic proportions begins.

Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse

According to the developer, Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse is the "world's best mass llama-slaughter roguelike-lite-ish couch co-op top-down twin-stick shooter." What that means is that the game requires you to navigate various areas, shooting as many llamas as possible. We've seen many twin-stick shooters release on Xbox One in recent years, but this one is definitely the craziest. "Roguelike-lite-ish" means that you die a lot, but become stronger after every run despite the fact that you may have to start from the beginning.

Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse should launch on March 16, priced at $14.99. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Curse of the Pharaohs

The Curse of the Pharaohs offers gamers a completely new quest to delve into as they travel to Thebes to investigate an ancient curse that is plaguing the land. The expansion focuses on Egyptian mythology, pitting players against famous pharaohs and Egyptian beasts, as they uncover the cause of the curse that has brought certain dead rulers back to life. Each expansion increases the level cap and this one is no different. The Hidden Ones first raised the cap to 45 while The Curse of the Pharaohs increases it to 55. This means that you can keep on leveling up and finding better gear.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Curse of the Pharaohs should launch on March 13. The game features Xbox One X enhancements.
