It looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII exists after all.

Over the past few days, many outlets have confirmed the existence of "Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII". While there have been many "anonymous sources" who have provided believable details, the physical evidence comes from a merchandise listing by GameStop and a hat worn by basketball star James Harden.

A few days ago, images taken from GameStop's inventory software pointed towards hats, lanyards, shirts, and a variety of other clothing items with "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" branding. However, these could've been doctored we didn't make much of it.

Yesterday, James Harden wore a hat to an event with four orange stripes on it. It resembled the Call of Duty: Black Ops III logo. Fans quickly deduced that it was a logo for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops game, the sub-franchise developer Treyarch is known for.

Since then many outlets like Eurogamer and Kotaku have confirmed that the hat does represent Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII. Instead of opting to use Roman numeral "IV", the developer is going with "IIII" which is sometimes used interchangeably. Legend has it that the Romans preferred to use IIII due to certain religions reasons.

We've reached out to Activision for comment and will update the story as soon as receive a response. However, the publisher will probably deny the existence of the title until E3 2018 or another opportune event.
