State of Decay 2 has a new price tag and a long-awaited launch window.
A few days ago, we reported that State of Decay 2 dropped in price at various retailers. It was unclear if this was a error on the part of the outlets or an actual price drop. Today, IGN confirmed the new price as well as a release date for the long-awaited game.
State of Decay 2 should launch on May 22, 2018 for Xbox One and Windows 10 as an Xbox Play Anywhere experience. According to Microsoft, the game will also be available at launch on Xbox Game Pass. Lastly, the company confirmed a price point of $29.99 for the standard edition and $49.99 for an ultimate edition.
The ultimate edition of the game gives you early access to State of Decay 2 on May 22 and a free Xbox One copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition alongside the Independence Pack and Daybreak Pack add-ons.
Aaron Greenberg, the General Manager of Games Marketing at Microsoft, said the following when asked about the game's low price point.
Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game.
State of Decay 2 is a co-op multiplayer game which forces you to survive in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. Players have to work together, build bases, and form communities if they wish to survive in this hostile land.
