NVIDIA has added optimizations for Final Fantasy XV and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in its latest Game Ready driver release.
NVIDIA has released another "Game Ready" driver for its graphics cards, adding optimizations for new PC games. The latest release adds tweaks for Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition ahead of its March 6 release, as well as Warhammer: Vermentide 2, which is set for release on March 8. The drivers also add tweaks to enhance performance for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) and World of Tanks 1.0, which just got a major engine upgrade.
The enhancements for Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition are particularly interesting because Square Enix worked pretty closely with NVIDIA on the game's move to PC. When the port was announced, Square Enix said it would use NVIDIA's GameWorks tech suite to optimize Final Fantasy XV for PC and add visual upgrades to make it "the definitive version of the game."
When it arrives on March 6, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition will pack more life-like hair and shadows, HDR10, 4K and 8K support, and more dynamic vegetation, fluid, fire, and smoke. The game will also support NVIDIA's GeForce Experience capture and share tools, including 360-degree screen captures.
If you're a big fan of PUBG, NVIDIA says you can also expect to see performance improvements of between three and seven percent depending on your combination of graphics card and resolution. While small, that's not a bad improvement for a game that has seen its fair share of performance complaints.
The full release notes also include several fixes and issues. Here's a look:
