Xbox Live multiplayer is free for everyone this weekend

Xbox Live will let you play online for free this weekend.

If you don't have an Xbox Live Gold subscription, Microsoft is giving players a chance to play online for free this weekend. Running from February 15 through February 18, Xbox Live multiplayer will be open to everyone across Xbox One and Xbox 360 for every game.

If you're an avid gamer, you probably already have a number of games with multiplayer modes to check out. However, if you're looking for something new, Microsoft says that both Rainbow Six Siege and NBA 2K18 are free to play this weekend as well. You can download and play both games for free from now through February 18 at 11:59 p.m. PST. The progress you make in either game will also carry over if you decide to pick them up after the free play days are over. In a separate post, Blizzard announced that Overwatch is free to play this weekend as well, so there's no shortage of things to play.

If you're interested in signing up after this weekend, Xbox Live Gold normally runs $9.99 per month, but that monthly cost goes down if you subscribe in 3- or 12-month intervals. Will you be checking out any multiplayer games on your Xbox this weekend?
