Every week, numerous games launch on Xbox One but which ones truly stand out? Here are some of the biggest and most anticipated titles launching across Microsoft's platforms this week.
This week we don't have any new "AAA" releases on Xbox One, but there are still a few surprises here and there. Notably, the popular space strategy game Starpoint Gemini Warlords launches on the console, and Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition allows you to shoot your way through hordes of enemies. With that in mind, here are all the biggest games launching this week, between February 5 and February 9, 2018.
Starpoint Gemini Warlords
Starpoint Gemini Warlords is a popular space simulator which combines third-person capital spaceship combat with strategy and role-playing elements. The goal is to become the Warlord of the Gemini system by building mighty fleets and sending them into battle. Unlike many strategy games, Starpoint Gemini Warlords allows you to directly control your ship to show off your battle prowess. You can aim and fire manually or command your gunners to do the job for you. You can even choose companions to follow you into battle if you need an extra hand. Battles in the game are unpredictable, with some being simple duels, while others involving entire fleets.
Starpoint Gemini Warlords launches on February 9, priced at $34.99. Xbox One X enhancements are planned for the future.
Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition
The critically-acclaimed platformer Mercenary Kings is coming to Xbox One as Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition. According to the developer, this is a huge revamp of the studio's marquee title. The game has been rebranded to emphasize the redesign, redefinition, rebalancing, additional content, and expansion from the current PC and PlayStation 4 versions. The Mercenary Kings are the most skilled team of warriors-for-hire on Earth, but when your comrades have fallen and the fearsome forces of an evil organization have seized an island-wide top secret base, you must do whatever it takes to stop them.
Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition launches on February 6, priced at $19.99.
Bleed 2
Bleed 2 is a furious fast-paced action game which sees the return of pink-haired heroine Wryn. Wryn is the world's greatest – and only remaining – hero, as she fights to defend the globe from an invading force of villains. Players must master the art of air-dodging and bullet-reflecting to stylishly take down a relentless barrage of enemies and bosses.
Bleed 2 launches on February 9, priced at $14.99. There's a preorder discount available to early adopters.
Pinstripe
Pinstripe puts you in the shoes of Teddy, an estranged ex-minister forced to venture through the frozen afterlife in search of Bo, his three year old daughter, and her perverse kidnapper. According to the developer, you discover the dark secrets of Teddy's past, and confront his sleazy, demonic nemesis, Mr. Pinstripe. The game is supposedly an emotional adventure through the afterlife that blends humor with horror for a memorable experience. The goal is to discover the mystery behind Teddy and Bo's deaths.
Pinstripe launches on February 7, priced at $14.99.
Overdriven Reloaded: Special Edition
Overdriven Reloaded: Special Edition is a better and longer experience than the base game. Just like any shoot 'em up, the aim is to beat your old high score and take the top spot in the leaderboards with new stages. There are fifteen new keys to collect, three new space cows to discover, and much more.

Apart from the games mentioned above, Xbox One is getting Dandara, Dye, Little Triangle, Marooners, and Quantic Pinball. There may be some other surprises in there because it seems like another ACA NeoGeo game launches on the console each week.
