PUBG Corp. wants you to enjoy the Miramar map with the latest PC update.

PUBG Corp. has released an update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on PC. This is the fourth major update since the release of version 1.0 and makes some changes to the Miramar desert map and squashes some bugs.

Here's what has been altered on the new map:

  • Added more buildings and cover across the map to improve the engagement experience.
  • Added more off-road routes for easier vehicle navigation.
  • Upgraded the item spawn level of certain areas for loot balancing (some areas will spawn better loot).

More cover will help things since it's an incredibly open map, making it difficult at points to locate at least some kind of cover to shield oneself from incoming fire. Interestingly, this update also breaks previous replays — after updating your client on PC you'll no longer be able to view older matches. As the release notes details, "the replay system has now been updated to a newer version and past replay files cannot be played anymore."

Some gamers have taken to extreme measures to not play the map, including removing or altering files so the game would boot their session back to the lobby screen if Miramar was selected. PUBG Corp. certainly hopes this will help address some of the criticisms players have of the new map.
