Call of Duty: WWII has been dominating Xbox One sales charts for weeks now, but it looks like another title finally dethroned the game in the United Kingdom at least.
According to the latest sales figures by GfK Chart-Track, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) managed to beat Call of Duty: WWII when it came to physical sales in the country last week. GfK Chart-Track is a market research company that has monitored music, video, and software sales in the United Kingdom and Ireland since 1996. Each week they release a report tracking the health of the gaming industry by following new games.
The top twenty physical games for the week ending on January 13, 2018 are as follows. Many of the titles are older games which may surprise you. Even though PUBG comes with a digital code, it's still sold in a physical box at retailers hence why it's included in this list. The promotion which bundled the game with an Xbox One X ended at the end of December 2017 so physical sales aren't inflated because of that.

Call of Duty: WWII has effectively remained the top-selling game each week since it came out, so it's a little surprising to see PUBG topple it even on Xbox One. It seems as though, despite the game's problems, players are loving the Xbox Game Preview experience. Frequent updates which address key issues have improved PUBG for the better over the course of the last month. While there are still significant hinderances, PUBG on Xbox One manages to capture the enjoyment of the better PC version.
Keep in mind that this list only includes physical Xbox One game sales, so the fact that PUBG in on there is a good example of its craze among gamers. Xbox One digital sales should further increase the gap between PUBG and other titles. It should also be noted that Call of Duty: WWII has sold many more units on Xbox One since it launched in November 2017, as this data only represents last week. Nonetheless, it's great to see PUBG do so well in a key market like the United Kingdom.
PUBG is a last-man-standing shooter being developed with the help of community feedback. Starting with absolutely nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the only one alive. PUBG is a surprisingly realistic and high-tension title set on a massive island. Be sure to check out the game if you like competitive multiplayer experiences.
