PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds latest Xbox One update delivers Duo and Squad support for first-person servers.

Earlier this week, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) received its fourth major update on Xbox One, following its debut via the Xbox Game Preview program. Since release, the game's developer, Bluehole, has been keen to deliver consistent improvements to the console version, most recently adding support for first-person perspective (FPP) servers. As the name suggests, when playing this mode, players are limited to a first-person view, which hugely changes up the dynamic of gameplay.

Following the addition of FPP servers, the game is now set to receive a new wave of matchmaking options on the console. As announced in a post to the PUBG forums by Lead Community Manager, Sammie Kang, FPP is now set to expand to Duo and Squad play, meaning up to four players can now jump into the first-person action.

Unlike the initial FPP servers, which were accessible across NA, EU and OCE regions, today's changes only affect those connected to NA and EU. Kang noted that going forward, the team will "continue to monitor player data" going forward, ahead of a rollout to further regions.

Duo and Squad play is now live on Xbox One as a server-side update, meaning a downloadable update isn't required.
