Yesterday at The Game Awards 2017, Epic Games revealed a new fifty vs. fifty mode for Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite is a free-to-play third-person shooter which features building mechanics and a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds-like battle royale mode. The new fifty vs. fifty match pits two teams of fifty against one another in a massive, last team standing battle. The new mode is only available for a limited time so be sure to play it before its gone. The event will be available through December 17, 2017, with additional unique game modes and content planned for the future.

Matches are absolute chaos because you have to work with others. Your teammates linger around for a while and having that many people gathering resources, building structures, or even shooting is a great example of the game mode's pandamonium. Playing it can be a little disorienting at first because of everything going on.

Additionally, Epic Games announced that over thirty million people have played Fortnite and Fortnite Battle Royale up until now. This past weekend, the game also hit a new milestone of 1.3 million concurrent users. Fortnite is available on a variety of platforms so that figure is understandable given the free-to-play nature of the game and the popularity of the battle royale genre at the moment.

If you like third-person shooters which require teamwork, be sure to give Fortnite a go. The best part is that the title features Xbox One X support and runs at 1728p on Microsoft's machine and 1080p on the PlayStation 4 Pro. This results in a significantly clearer picture when playing on the former due to the substantial difference in resolution.
