Elgato's Stream Deck is making it easier for Mixer streamers to deploy ridiculous GIFs and chat messages at a touch with its latest update.
Elgato makes some of the most popular tools for game streamers, and among the company's arsenal is the Stream Deck, a USB peripheral that gives you 15 programmable hotkeys that can add visual flair to your stream with the touch of a button. It's a pretty handy thing to have, but if Mixer is your streaming platform of choice, it's getting handier with its latest software update.
Stream Deck version 1.6 includes new Mixer integrations, letting users easily set up pre-composed chat messages and other options with the deck's buttons. The update also includes support for Twitter's increased character limit for your pre-composed tweets. Here's a look at what's new from the release notes:
Mixer Integration
- Your Mixer stream just got an upgrade. With one key-press, you can now:
- Post pre-composed chat messages
- Clear your chat history
- Activate / deactivate slow chat
- Monitoring your live viewer count directly on Stream Deck is also possible.
280 Character Tweets
- For better or worse, Twitter increased the character limit from 140 to 280 – all of which you can now employ in your pre-composed tweets.
We took a look at the Elgato Stream Deck earlier in 2017, and came away impressed. One of our only gripes was lack of native support for Mixer (still called Beam at the time), so it's good to see some dedicated Mixer integrations added to the mix.
So you stream on @WatchMixer?
