A few weeks ago SOMA was rated for Xbox One by the Pan European Game Information (PEGI), the European equivalent of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). Today, Frictional Games confirmed that SOMA will launch on Xbox One on December 1, 2017.

The Xbox One version includes a "Safe Mode" where players can experience the atmosphere and story free from harm. The mode will be available on PC starting December 1, 2017 and PlayStation 4 at a later date. "Safe Mode" is a great way to play the game without having to worry about dying after every couple of minutes. This can become frustrating and detract from the title if you're just interested in the story.

SOMA is an underwater game focused on survival. The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they're people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and you're going to have to make some tough decisions.

The world of SOMA contains horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. Be careful though, danger lurks around every corner. Just like the horror game Outlast, there's no fighting back. You either have to outsmart enemies or run from them.
