Many months ago Square Enix promised Final Fantasy 15 players they could soon enjoy the rich world in a multiplayer setting. After a few delays, that day is finally here.
Beginning today, Final Fantasy 15 players can band together and join the Kingsglaive elite force in the game's first-ever online multiplayer expansion, called Comrades. Comrades takes place after the events of Chapter 13 in the main game. According to Square Enix, the expansion puts fans in the shoes of the remaining Kingsglaive survivors as they fight to restore Light to the world during Noctis' absence. Other members of Noctis' crew including Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis will be playable in future updates.
The multiplayer expansion allows players to create and customize their own character and take part in epic quests. The world is covered in darkness so it's up to you to change that. Your character is a member of the elite Kingsglaive force who can equip royal sigils that grant special powers from the rulers of old. You must also strategize with other gamers and create a balanced team. The enemies aren't pushovers so coordination is key when dealing with these beasts.
Unlike a traditional multiplayer expansion, Comrades also includes a single-player campaign. While it's not an expansive saga, players can use a base of operations to find a variety of exciting quests and encounter familiar faces. Square Enix also recently released a new game update which allows players to accept multiple hunt quests at any given time.
Comrades is available now for players who purchased Final Fantasy 15 and the Final Fantasy 15 Season Pass. The expansion can also be purchased separately from the Microsoft Store for $19.99.
