A few days ago Respawn Entertainment said that Titanfall 2 achieved native 4K resolution on Xbox One X, and even went above that in some instances.
However, once gamers actually got to play the title on the console, it looked blurry on many occasions and suffered from other issues. Digital Foundry conducted an analysis and determined that the resolution dropped down to levels even lower than the weaker PlayStation 4 Pro. They even suggested that this might be "unfinished beta code". There were problems with texture filtering as well.
It seems that the developers were aware of these problems and issued a patch yesterday. On their Twitter feed, Respawn Entertainment said that a "patch has been deployed for Xbox Only to improve visuals and performance on Xbox One X". We were able to test this out and the game definitely looks sharper and performs better. It's unclear if this small patch fixed all of the issues Digital Foundry highlighted in their analysis but it definitely feels like a significant step in the right direction.

Unlike the first game, Titanfall 2 introduces a campaign alongside its multiplayer mode. The story explores the unique bond between man and machine and is surprisingly touching. Fast-paced player vs. player battles return in the sequel but this time around they take place in grander maps. If you haven't played the game, be sure to check it out at retailers.
