When Outcast: Second Contact was announced, fans of the original rejoiced because it was the first time they could experience it with upgraded visuals.
Since then many have been clamoring to learn more about the game. We already know about the setting and world building, but today we got a better look at the imaginative weapons and combat system. Just like the original which launched in 1999, staying mobile and dodging traps or oncoming fire is necessary for survival. Gameplay revolves around that and using the right weapon at the right time. Taking on a battalion with your pistol won't do you any good.
Outcast is a memorable game because it introduced a lot of innovations like an open world environment. The title managed to capture that sense of wonder you get when exploring a new world due to its mesmerizing setting. Few other titles have been able to replicate that. Hopefully, the remastered version will do the original justice.
Outcast: Second Contact puts you in the shoes of a human named Cutter Slade, an American Navy SEAL, who's alone on an unknown planet, without equipment, with no trace of his companions, and without the slightest idea on how to complete his mission. While immersing himself in an alien civilization and culture, Cutter will have to negotiate with affluent merchants, rally rebel forces, fight the army of a tyrant, and simply survive in hostile territory. The fate of Earth and this alien land depends on it. The game is coming out on November 14, 2017.
