Dragon Ball FighterZ gets a suitably bizarre new story trailer

The latest trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ offers hints at the mysteries you'll solve during its story mode.

As a franchise, Dragon Ball Z has never exactly been praised for the depth of its writing. After all, the story mainly serves as a vehicle to get Goku and friends into action-packed battles with baddie after baddie on a never-ending treadmill of skyrocketing power and endless transformations. That's not a negative thing, of course, but it does lead to some pretty bizarre plot points.

Fortunately, if those bizarre plot points are your cup of tea, it looks like Dragon Ball FighterZ will continue that tradition. Publisher Bandai Namco has released the first of a series of story trailers for the game, showing off what players will encounter across its three story arcs. There's an army of clones, a mysterious incident that knocks the game's heroes unconscious, and a new android eager to eat them. Fantastic.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is scheduled to launch on January 26, 2018 on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. The game is up for preorder now starting at $59.99. Preorders will also get early access to an open beta set to take place in January ahead of the game's launch.
