Middle-earth: Shadow of War's nemesis system comes to life in its latest trailer.
Monolith has released a new live-action trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and it's a doozy. Throughout its minute-long runtime, the trailer brings protagonist Talion to life as he battles massive orcs and caragors within a rain-soaked enemy fortress. In the end, the trailer turns into an interactive experience where you can choose to save your follower or slay your nemesis.
This choice reflects some of what players will experience with the Nemesis system in-game. After making your choice, you'll get one of six alternate endings to the trailer, showing how followers and enemies remember your choices and adapt.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War will build upon the story of its predecessor, Shadow of Mordor, when it arrives on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 10. The game will also feature enhancements just for Xbox One X, including a bump to 4K resolution and increased graphical fidelity. For now, you can preorder the game at Microsoft and other retailers starting at $59.99.
