After a bit of a lull, Microsoft is bringing a batch of new games to the Xbox One backward compatible list.
Microsoft hasn't added any new games to the Xbox One backward compatible list for the past couple of weeks, but it's breaking that lull with a batch of new titles. As revealed on Twitter by Xbox's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, a total of six Xbox 360 games are coming to backward compatibility today. Here's a look at what's new.
The biggest name hitting the list today is Saints Row: The Third. This entry in the series packs all of the ridiculousness of the others as you take the fight to a criminal organization known as The Syndicate.
Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control. Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang, and defend yourself against a highly-trained military force using only a sex toy in the most out-landish gameplay scenarios ever seen, igniting a city-wide war that will set Steelport on fire. Strap it on.
Aside from Saints Row: The Third, the other five titles are relatively minor entries. Monopoly Deal is a digital take on the classic board game that turns it into a fast paced card game. Meanwhile, Undertow is an Xbox Arcade title that lets up to 16 players fight for survival in underwater battles.
Super Contra goes back to one of gaming's arcade classics with enhanced graphics and Xbox Live integration. Slender: The Arrival is a survival horror-filled adaptation of the Slender Man tale. Lastly, Virtual-On is an arcade mech title available only in Japan.
If you already own any of these games for Xbox 360, you should be able to install them on your Xbox One and start playing right away. And for more on Xbox backward compatibility, check out our comprehensive list of available titles.
