EA has finally confirmed the release date for Battlefield 1 expansion as well as HDR support.

All Battlefield 1 players will be able to get their hands on the game's next expansion, 'In the Name of the Tsar" on September 19, EA and Dice have now confirmed. However, if you happen to be a Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owner, you'll get a chance to dive in even earlier on September 5.

As the title may suggest, the next expansion has a heavy Russian theme to it. Included are six new maps that focus on landscapes around eastern Europe. Players can dive into new operations, as well as the new Supply Drop game mode, in which planes airdrop everything needed to take out your enemies. Lots of new vehicles and weapons are included here as well, and players will be able to see the war from the eyes of the Russian army for the first time.

Just as big as all of the new content, however, is that HDR support is finally being added to the game. We heard the game was due to get HDR support before it even launched last year, but players have been left waiting ever since. With the arrival of "In the Name of the Tsar," an update will add HDR10 support on console and PC for more immersive visuals. Essentially, you'll now see a greater contrast between the whitest whites and darkest darks throughout every scene if you have the proper setup with a compatible monitor or TV.

You can pick up a Premium Pass now for $44.99 if you want to dive into the expansion a little early. For everyone else, expect the expansion to go on sale on September 19 for $14.99.
