Ubisoft is giving The Division its biggest free update yet on all platforms this fall.
The next big update for Tom Clancy's The Division has been revealed, and it packs plenty of new content for players to check out. Hitting all platforms simultaneously this fall for free, the "Resistance" update will include two new game modes and a whole new area to check out.
Most interesting is the new area, called West Side Pier. Encompassing two new zones, players will be able to venture across West Side Pier to counter factions that are now forming an alliance. A new social hub, Camp Clinton, is also included as a place for players to equip and change gear before venturing into the fight.
Gameplay across West Side Pier is bolstered by two new game modes: Resistance and Skirmish:
- Resistance (PvE mode) – In Resistance, the different factions are teaming up for the first time to fight against Division agents. Varied enemy NPCs continuously spawn in waves as up to four agents try to survive for as long as they can and earn rewards.
- Skirmish (PvP mode) – In Skirmish, two teams of four players compete against each other to get the highest number of kills before the time expires. Teams earn points each time a downed enemy player is eliminated.
There's no firm date available, but "Resistance" is set to hit later this fall as patch 1.8 for free on all platforms. All of this is a part of The Division's "year two" patching plan, which brings continued active support for the game with gameplay changes and new content. If you want to dive into The Division and try your hand at its tactical action, you can grab the game for $49.99 at the Xbox Store now.
