Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will bring the classic RTS to fans once again this October.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition finally has a release date. During a special Gamescom live stream event, Microsoft announced that the revamped version of the classic real-time strategy (RTS) title is all set to land in fans' hands on October 19.
For its Definitive Edition treatment, Age of Empires is being remastered with updated visuals, including high-resolution textures and 4K support. Various other little niceties, like an increased population limit, better pathfinding, new zoom levels, and improved animations are on board as well. For fans of the soundtrack, the music has been enhanced as well.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will be available exclusively for Windows 10 on the Windows Store on October 19. You can sign up for the closed beta, which is set to kick off on August 22, at the Age of Empires website.
