Final Fantasy XV is coming together with Forza Horizon 3 for the next car release in the open-world racer.
Count this as a mash-up we didn't see coming. Final Fantasy XV's iconic vehicle, the Regalia, is coming to Forza Horizon 3. The bulky beauty that toted Prince Noctis and his friends Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto, will be available in the game starting August 1.
From Microsoft:
With its massive heft, intricate body details, and luxurious interior, the Regalia is a unique addition to the world of Forza Horizon 3. The team at Square Enix found inspiration for the Regalia's design from real-world models like the Cadillac Ciel concept car and the Maybach Exelero. In Forza Horizon 3, the car's size (nearly 21 feet long and seven feet wide) makes it a cruiser's delight. Take it for a slow-burn drive through downtown Surfers Paradise, or hit the Aussie freeway in the Outback and push that 7.2-liter supercharged V12 (offering up 536 hp) to its limit.
While the car's distribution is limited to a point, obtaining it is pretty simple. Anyone who has played Forza Horizon 3 or Final Fantasy XV by August 1. Forza Horizon 3 players will get access to the Regalia through the in-game messaging system, while Final Fantasy XV players will get a redeemable code through the Xbox Live messaging system. Presumably this means the car won't be available after that date, but it isn't entirely clear if that's the case at this point.
In any case, for more on the Regalia, check out Turn 10's full rundown on bringing the car to Forza.
