Microsoft has added another pair of games to the Xbox backward compatibility list today. The latest additions include Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, as well as F1 2014.

The first of the two, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, sees you taking on an invasion of insects and aliens that are attacking Earth. The shooter includes co-op gameplay, along with survival modes and a ton of weapons to collect. Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is up for grabs for $19.99 at the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

Meanwhile, F1 2014 serves up just what you'd expect from the name: Formula One racing action. The game includes all of the cars, drivers and circuits from the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship. According to the game's description, the 2014 edition also introduced a new driver evaluation systems and a "Very Easy" mode to help you get started. F1 2014 is available on the Xbox 360 Marketplace for $24.99.

Neither of today's additions are blockbusters, but it's always good to see new titles added to the list — particularly after what's been a fairly slow few weeks for backward compatible releases. And while we don't know all of what's coming down the pipeline for future backward compatible titles, 343 Industries recently announced that Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: CE Anniversary will all be added later this year, so there's that to look forward to.
