After recently teasing the latest entry in the Need for Speed series, Ghost Games has given it a full reveal. The game is called Need for Speed Payback, a fitting name given the role of revenge in its story. But before we dive into that, check out the game's first action-packed trailer below:
It seems this entry will have a heavy emphasis on story, as your crew embarks on a journey for revenge against a criminal cartel known as The House. EA explains:
Set in the underworld of Fortune Valley, players will drive as three distinct characters reunited by a quest for vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city's casinos, criminals and cops. They will take on a variety of challenges and events as Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman to earn the respect of the underground.
Of course, Need for Speed's other signatures are all here, too. You'll be able to kit your cars out with fine tuning and customizations galore. The game will even let you hunt down a broken down vehicle and bring it back to its former glory, if you choose.
The usual preorder bonuses are present and accounted for here as well. Anyone who preorders will get access to five cars right out of the gate, including:
- Nissan 350Z 2008
- Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
- Dodge Charger R/T 1969
- Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
- Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016
Need for Speed Payback is due for launch on November 10, but Deluxe Edition buyers will get a chance to dive in three days early. EA Access and Origin Access embers will similarly get some early play time with a 10-hour Play First Trial starting on November 2. If all of that sounds like it's up your alley, you can pre-order Need for Speed Payback for $60 on the Xbox Store now and on Amazon shortly.
