Merging the worlds of cinema and video games is not a new concept, but Late Shift, a new game launching this April, is looking to try its hand at combining the two with a heavy dose of player choice. Billed as a "cinematic FMV crime thriller," Late shift was penned by Michael R. Johnson, the author behind the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film, and will be published Wales Interactive. Take a look at the game's trailer below:

Operating as a sort of choose-your-own-adventure film, Late Shift puts a heavy emphasis on player decisions to back up its interactive storytelling. As the story unfolds around your character, who is forced into helping out with an auction house robbery, every decision you make has the potential to make an impact on the narrative.

Late Shift is set for an April launch, but there's no exact date pinned down just yet. It will be available on PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PS4.
