Gears of War 4 is picking up some changes to the Gear Pack system that should help players get their hands on more customization content. The update, announced alongside some upcoming 10th anniversary celebrations, includes tweaks to Versus Boosters, Horde Boosters and Operations Packs.
Here's a look at what's changing:
- Versus Boosters now contain one guaranteed customization item and four Bounties. One Bounty has a chance to be a second customization item.
- Horde Boosters now contain one guaranteed customization item, four Horde Skills and a chance for a Horde Skill to be a Horde Bounty
- Operations Packs now contain two guaranteed customization items
As part of the update, Bounties have also been rebalanced and should reward more XP or Credits based on difficulty. Likewise, the Credit earn rate for losses in Versus Multiplayer has also been increased. These updates should start rolling out later today.
Lastly, November 7 marks the 10th anniversary of the Gears of War franchise, and developer The Coalition is planning to celebrate with a special Tenth Anniversary Gear Pack. The pack will include a playable Gary Carmine, along with special weapons, emblems and bounties. The pack will arrive on November 7, and you can get a sneak peek of what to expect in the trailer below.
