Digo is a Windows 10 game where you play the role of Zephyr Digo, the oddly shaped hero who must save his friends who have gotten trapped in a series of mazes.
Digo has simple mechanics and modest graphics. It's not the most complicated game in the Windows Store, but the labyrinths are filled with twists, turns, traps, monsters and other dangers that keep you on your toes.
Available for Windows 10 PC and Mobile, the free game is fun for all ages and not a bad way to burn a little down time with.
Digo launches to a primary menu that holds options to jump into gameplay, access the game's settings and select your language. Gameplay is mapped out in multi-level fashion with a tutorial level available when you first start playing Digo. The tutorial walks you through the basics of playing Digo and while it doesn't outline all the dangers the mazes possess, it is not too difficult to figure out what to avoid.
Unfortunately, there is no way to replay the tutorial without resetting the game from the game's settings menu. While Digo isn't a difficult game to learn, the tutorial does offer a few tips on playing the game that can help get you started on the right foot.
In a nutshell, several of Digo's friends have gone missing and it is up to Digo to search a series of mazes to find them. Movement is controlled by swiping the screen and you can set movements in advance. For example, swiping right and then up guides Digo down a corridor and takes the first left turn. It is a nice feature when Digo faces a series of short, quick turns.
Within each maze level you'll find three keys that Digo needs to collect, in order to unlock the portal to the next level. There are also plenty of traps, monsters and other difficulties Digo has to navigate around, all proving a nice challenge of timing and patience.
Maze layouts range from the simple to complex with plenty of switches controlling doors that open up key areas of the puzzle. I would have liked to have seen the ability to zoom out to view the entire maze, but the absence of such a features adds to the challenge of the game. It forces you to concentrate more on the game as you take things as they come.
While more on the simple side of gaming, Digo may lack a lot of bells and whistles but is not short on challenge. It is a fun game to pick up when you have a little down time to waste and easy enough to play that it should appeal to gamers of all ages. The free game is available for Windows 10 PC and Mobile.
