Developer 343 Industries has announced that Halo 5's Forge map making tool will arrive for Windows 10 on September 8. The free app will be available in the Windows Store, and allows users to easily create Halo 5 levels and maps right form their Windows 10 PCs. The Forge will allow PC users to host and play custom multiplayer Halo 5 matches as well.
In addition to the Forge's arrival on PC, September 8 will also see the release of a content update for Halo 5 called Anvil's Legacy. The update will add in the content browser for Forge mode on Xbox One, making it much easier to discover Forge content from the community. The update also includes the following:
- New Arena and Warzone Maps – Mercy and Temple. With the addition of "Mercy", a new battleground is open for competitive Arena players, while "Temple" brings the desert environment of Sanghelios to Warzone Assault modes.
- New Weapons, REQs, Customization Options and More. Anvil's Legacy brings several new desirable REQ items including three new weapons, new Sound Dampener attachments, weapon and armor skins, and more.
