Those eagerly awaiting another chance to check out Halo Wars 2 ahead of release will get another chance to do just that in early 2017. That's according to developer 343 Industries, which mentioned the timeframe for the next beta test in a new update blog. 343 Industries also notes that the next beta test will be available for bothWindows 10 and Xbox One.
The main thrust of the new blog post, however, was to discuss some of the changes 343 Industries will be making to Halo Wars 2 in response to the June beta test. From the blog post:
Probably the biggest criticism we heard about the beta was issues with connectivity, de-synchs, etc. I'm happy to say that, thanks to you, we've already addressed these issues in the final game.
There are a significant number of individual changes and adjustments being made, including unit tuning, game mode pacing, UI improvements, stability, and flow improvements based on the data we received from the beta. At a high level, there are five main areas of focus that we'll be adjusting, in addition to the general improvements listed above:
- Controls
- Leader Abilities
- Bases
- Resources and Energy
- Population
