Bricks Crash 2 Free

At first glance, Bricks Crash 2 Free appears to be your typical brick busting Windows Phone game. The game has over sixty puzzle levels to tackle, two gaming modes and ten brick types. The goal is to clear all the bricks from the screen, but the one thing missing is the paddle that keeps your brick-busting ball in play.

Instead, Bricks Crash 2 Free has a little bubble bursting style about it. As an alternative to using a paddle along the bottom of the gaming screen to keep things in play, you launch colored balls to destroy the various bricks on the gaming screen. It's not that unique of a concept but does help Bricks Crash stand out ever so slightly.

Available for low-memory devices, after spending a little time with Bricks Crash it comes across as a decent game to pass a little time with. It also closes out this week's AdDuplex HERO Apps lineup.

The primary menu for Bricks Crash 2 Free offers you several options. These options include checking the online leaderboard, muting the sound effects, rating the game in the Windows Phone Store and choosing which game mode to play. The two game modes for Bricks Crash 2 include a level based mode where you tackle sixty challenging puzzle levels and an endless mode, which is basically a survival mode.

The gaming screen will display your player stats at the bottom of the screen that includes your score, your best score, your gaming level and then number of balls you have remaining. Game play will not start until you launch your first ball at the collection of bricks.

You destroy the bricks by launching one of the colored balls at a matching colored brick. Just tap the screen on your target area and your ball is launched. Once you launch that first salvo, the bricks will begin to slowly advance down the screen. Your goal is to bust all the bricks before you run out of balls or the bricks reach the bottom of the screen.

There are ten brick styles that include your ordinary "do nothing" brick and several that have bonus abilities. Such as an exploding brick that takes out any neighboring bricks when hit, bricks that will freeze neighboring bricks and bricks that require multiple hits to break.

Bricks Crash 2 Free isn't an overly taxing game to play, but will keep you on your toes as the field of bricks advance. The only real complaint I have with the game rests with its ad-support. You have an ad banner that spans the bottom of the screen that isn't too invasive, but you also have a full-screen ad that pops up randomly. Sometime the full-screen ad appears in the middle of a game, which is not good.

At last check, with only a few reviews, Bricks Crash 2 Free is pulling down a 5 Star rating in the Windows Phone Store. While I liked the game, I would have to dial it back to a 4 Star rating and if you take the obnoxious full-screen ads into account the game would fall to 3 Stars though.
