Lara Croft: Relic Run, starring the lead character from the Tomb Raider game series, will be released worldwide on Windows Phone and other platforms in the coming months. Publisher Square Enix and Tomb Raider's main developer Crystal Dynamics are working with mobile game developer Simutronics on this new free-to-play title.
Square Enix says:
Many of you have correctly mused that Relic Run is an adventure runner, and at its core it is, but we feel that it's much more than that. Relic Run offers a massive amount of diversity in play, allowing for seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.
Like the other games in the Lara Croft brand, Relic Run will scratch your itch for nostalgic play – big adventure, over-the-top action, and loads of collectibles coupled with fast-paced play.
This new game will likely be released for Windows Phone before Rise of the Tomb Raider, the next major console game in the series from Crystal Dynamics, is released first for Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms sometime in late 2015.
