Bunny Goes Boom is a simple, easy to play Windows Phone game that has you piloting a rocket that has a bunny rabbit strapped to it. You'll have to steer the rocket around a host of obstacles to see how high you can fly it.
The slightest nick against any of the dangers will cause the rocket to explode and the bunny to go boom. Available for low-memory Windows Phones, Bunny Goes Boom isn't a difficult game to pick up but you may be surprised how challenging something so simple can be. I'm not sure it can hold up to hours of game play but for shorter periods, Bunny Goes Boom might be an option to consider.
The main menu for Bunny Goes Boom offers up options to change your game course, your pilot and rocket style. To change beyond the default course, rabbit and rocket will cost you gaming stars, which are earned during game play.
You will also find settings options on the main menu (wrench button in the upper right corner) where you can mute the sound effects and music. When you are ready to start the game, tap the flame button to light your rocket.
Steering the rocket is accomplished by tapping the left or right side of the screen. As you would guess, tapping the right side steers the rocket to the right and the left side will steer the rocket to the left.
As your rocket ascends the screen, a host of obstacles will appear to avoid and stars to collect. Obstacles include dangers such as airplane wings, a flock of ducks, rabbits in hot air balloons and a pesky hawk that will attack your rocket. Oh and I should not forget the cloud sharks who are fitted with jetpacks.
The goal is to run your rocket as high as possible. You can brush up against the sides of the game screen without damaging your rocket and you can time your turn just right to pop the hot air balloons. Just don't tempt fate and get too close to the dangers in the sky. The slightest contact will explode your rocket.
Overall Impression
Bunny Goes Boom is a decent Windows Phone game that should do nicely for passing short bits of time with. I cannot say the game could hold up to marathon gaming sessions but it isn't a bad time waster of a game.
Controls are simple and game play can be challenging. The longer you survive, the faster the pace of Bunny Goes Boom becomes. I would have liked to have seen the rocket take a little damage before exploding. However, with the rocket being so sensitive adds to the challenge of the game.
All in all, Bunny Goes Boom is a nice title for your Windows Phone gaming library for the times you are in the mood for a simple but not too easy Windows Phone game. At last check, Bunny Goes Boom scores a 5 star rating in the Windows Phone Store. We aren't ready to pull the trigger and give Bunny Goes Boom a perfect rating but it should easily be a 4 star game.
